New iPhone Website for Trans Festival Belfast 2010

Now in its fifth year, Trans is an annual, non-commercial arts festival held in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Organised by the Belfast Waterfront, Trans is a three week programme of gigs, courses, exhibitions, seminars and discussions.

Having recently launched the new Trans Festival 2010 website, eyesparks have also developed an iPhone ready website to coincide with the launch of the new iPhone 4. iPhone ready websites are designed to deliver content much faster to mobile users, who are a growing percentage of your visitors online. iPhone ready websites typically have a pre-zoomed, readable version of your content designed for small mobile screens in a similar manner an app.

The Trans Festival iPhone website integrates directly with our preferred content management system, Wordpress, so when an update is made to the desktop website, it is also live on the mobile version. This is an important feature for the Trans festival because it allows users to stay up to date, comment and leave a review, live at any of the Festival Venues from their iPhone or Blackberry.

When Paul Kelly Design tendered to provide brand and marketing services for the TransBelfast Festival 2010 they approached Eyesparks as their web partner. The Trans Festival provides Gigs, Events, Exhibitions, and Academy Courses in The Waterfront Hall and various venues around Belfast during the month of July. Many of the events are alternative/underground in nature with a raw, counter-culture attitude which Paul’s design perfectly reflects this.

The main task of the website was to take the brand online without diluting the message. However, we had to make the site easy to navigate and encourage user participation. This resulted in us working very closely with Paul Kelly and the client to achieve a useable website that would not alienate the target audience.

Paul Kelly Design did a magnificent job of pulling the various strands of our brand together without losing our underground identity. Eyesparks helped us understand the usability issues that affect a site such as ours and together we have created a website worthy of the great acts, artists and events we have organised for 2010.

In October of last year we were excited to announce that Elevation Design had reached  the top 3 Google listings for the search term “Irish Dancing Dresses”. Well, they have n0w reached Number 2 on Google.com (US).

“Irish Dancing Dresses” is the most searched term in their sector so it was imperitative that we move them up the listings from page 10 on Google in 2008 to where they are today. How was this done? A significant factor was changing them from a .co.uk domain to the Irish .ie domain. We also created a “Featured Dress” widget that fans of Elevation can place on their site or Facebook page which links back to the Elevation hompeage. However their Google position has mainly improved because of the good Search Engine Optimisation infrastructure the site provides. This means that with relevant, interesting and popular articles being added to the site regularly, the search engines view them favourably as a good source of content in their field.

So while Eyesparks would love to take all the credit a big “Well Done” needs to be shouted out to the customer for taking on our advice and then acting on it until the results paid off.

Before we met the guys at Eyesparks we were doing the same amount of work on our website but it was not having the desired effect on the Search Engines. They really helped us improve our traffic and more significantly our sales.

Children’s Heartbeat Trust inc. Heartbeat. Supporting families of children with heart disease in Northern Ireland since 1984. Eyesparks worked closely with Children’s Heartbeat Trust to create a new website which will provide increased support for children with heart disease in Northern Ireland and their families.

Eyesparks showed excellent understanding of the specific needs of our website, creating a friendly, informative website which is both easy to navigate and easy to update.

Action Mental Health Visuals

We are delighted to announce that Eyesparks have been hired to refresh the website for AMH (Action Mental Health). Eyesparks worked with their team a number of years ago to establish a web presence when they launched their AMH brand. Now it’s time for this important charity to go Web2.0.

We will be joining their marketing and IT departments to define a web strategy that will help them engage with all their stakeholders, clients and referral sources effectively.

Our brand and requirements for the website have moved on since last we worked with Eyesparks. I’m very excited to be able to upgrade our website and embrace latest technologies on behalf of our charity.

DJC Building and Excavation are a building contractors based in Dromore. They create high end, bespoke homes similar to those featured in Channel 4’s “Grand Designs”. Having worked very well together on the Rory’s Story Cubes project we suggested DJC hire Paul Kelly to rebrand the company. The resulting brand and website has been very well received and will be officially launched at the Self Build Show, in Belfast’s Kings Hall.

Eyesparks tendered for this job with our old friends at ICONI Software. We designed the website which ICONI developed along with the accompanying MIS.

We worked very closely with the Chamber’s team in designing not only the user interface but also the content. The redeveloped site has two main objectives, to create new members and to encourage the existing memebership to participate in the Chamber’s online conversation. This has resulted in a more interactive and responsive web presence utilising the website, MIS, Twitter and email Newsletters.

I was really pleased with how the whole project developed. Eyesparks were very attentive to our needs and have continued to support the Chamber with our online presence.

When Paul Kelly Design was hired to rebrand Rory’s Story Cubes he suggested Eyesparks design the website. Having already worked with Paul on the Ashton Recruitment website we knew what a fantastic job he would do on the brand which allowed us to focus on the content and enable the Story Cube online community to upload their stories.

We have known Tony for many years (I worked with him in Riverdeep and Anita worked with him in Neworld Design back in the mid 90s), so in some ways we knew what to expect… but I have to say, Eyesparks really helped us create a site that speaks to our customers and complements the Story Cubes experience.
